Ημερίδα ενημέρωσης των ΑΕΙ για τις δυνατότητες χρηματοδότησης ερευνών τους μέσω των δράσεων του προγράμματος NATO "Science for Peace and Security Program"

We would like to inform you that under the auspices of the Permanent Delegation of Greece to NATO and the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation, an Info Day about the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme is organizing.
The Info Day will take place in Athens, on March 6th, 2025, from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm in the Green Room of the Eugenides Foundation 1st Floor. The Info Day is addressed to the Higher Education Institutes and Research Organizations and has the aim to introduce the Programme’s Thematic Priorities, as long as its submission and evaluation process.
Participants from Higher Education Institutions and Research Organizations are welcome. The SPS Key Priorities are listed below, without any indication of priority.
1. Environment, Climate Change and Security.
2. Energy Security.
3. Innovation and Emerging Disruptive Technologies (EDTs).
4. Counter-terrorism.
5. Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) and Explosive Hazards Management.
6. Defence against Hybrid Threats.
7. Resilience.
8. Critical Underwater Infrastructure.
9. Cyber Defence.
10. Strategic Foresight.
11. Human and Social Aspects of Security.
12. Operational Support.
The government, academic, or other non-profit institutions are eligible for SPS funding. Applications for funding must be developed jointly at least, by an organization by a NATO country which will be a Project Director (NPD) and an organization from a Partner country, which will be Project Director (PPD). The countries which are eligible to submit, manage and participate in SPS-supported activities are the NATO countries which are:
Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Netherlands, the Republic of North Macedonia, Norway, Poland,
Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Türkiye, United Kingdom, United States
and the eligible NATO partner countries
Algeria, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colombia, Egypt, Georgia, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Korea, Kuwait, Kyrgyz Republic, Malta, Mauritania, the Republic of Moldova, Mongolia, Morocco, New Zealand, Pakistan, Qatar, Serbia, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan.
SPS supports scientific cooperation through established grant mechanisms that provide funding for Multi-Year Projects (Budget Typically EUR 250,000-400,000 over the entire duration of the project.) and Events. Supported Events include:
• Advanced Research Workshops (ARW): Budget Typically EUR 30,000-40,000,
• Advanced Study Institutes (ASI) Budget on average EUR 60,000, and
• Advanced Training Courses (ATC) Budget on average EUR 60,000.
The above funding can support or can be the initiation of the activities linked to ERASMUS+ projects.
