• Description:The ERC Proof of Concept Grants aim to help researchers bridge the gap between pioneering research and its potential for innovation, whether commercial or social. These grants are exclusively available to Principal Investigators whose proposals are based substantially on ERC-funded research. The grant supports activities such as feasibility studies, business plan development, intellectual property management, and validating the practical viability of research results.
• Funding: A lump sum of €150,000 per project, for a duration of up to 18 months. While projects are expected to typically last around 12 months, the grant agreement is signed for 18 months to allow flexibility. The grant is paid as a lump sum and covers all eligible direct and indirect project costs, including personnel, subcontracting, and overheads.
