EUA is looking for participants for an upcoming workshop on research ethics governance structures.

This online event will take place on Tuesday 7 October 2025 from 13.00 to 15.00 CEST and is part of the EU-funded ‘Improving Research Ethics Expertise and Competencies to Ensure Reliability and Trust in Science’ (iRECS) project.

The group will bring together research ethics communities, university leaders, members and chairs of research ethics committees and ethics experts to gather their feedback and reflections on an ‘implementation guide’ developed by the project.

This guide will help higher education institutions and research performing organisations to implement a comprehensive research ethics governance structure in light of increasing requirements for researchers to meet ethical considerations, especially in the context of research involving innovative technologies.

Participants will be selected based on their institution’s profile and their own professional background. EUA also aims to ensure diversity in terms of gender and geography. To enable active participation, the number of available places is limited, and EUA reserves the right to give priority to early applicants.
