RE.connect Fellowships for International Researchers at the University of Münster, Germany

The International Office of the University of Münster, Germany, is delighted to announce the RE.connect Fellowships for 2025. These fellowships are designed to strengthen international research collaborations by reconnecting Research Alumni of the University of Münster with their former hosts. The program aims to foster sustainable academic partnerships and promote long-term research cooperation between the University of Münster and other European institutions.

Fellowship Highlights

What can be funded? The fellowship supports international collaborative research activities at the University of Münster, such as:

  • Publishing joint research

  • Preparing funding grant proposals

  • Conducting research or teaching activities

Funding options:

  • Short stay visit: €1,500 for a duration of 1 to 2 weeks.

  • Long research stay: €2,000 per month for 1 to 3 months.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the RE.connect Fellowship, applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • Be an international researcher (excluding German citizens).

  • Have conducted research at the University of Münster for at least one month in the past.

  • Not have worked at a German institution in the six months preceding the fellowship.

  • Be currently employed at a scientific institution in one of the eligible European countries.

  • Hold a PhD degree.

Application Process

Candidates need to submit:

  • A completed application form.

  • Their CV.

  • A letter of reference signed by the hosting professor or the dean of the hosting faculty.

Applications are accepted between 1 November 2024 and 31 January 2025, or until the first 50 applications are received. Once the limit is reached, the application process will close, and updates will be shared on the university’s website. Successful applicants will be notified by 28 February 2025.

Fellowship Conditions

  • Fellowships are provided as flat-rate grants and are managed by the University of Münster’s International Office under the RE.AL Research Alumni Strategy.

  • Research activities must be conducted on-site at the University of Münster.

The program is open to researchers currently employed in the following countries:

EU Countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic, Hungary, Cyprus.

Erasmus Plus Countries: Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Turkey.

EUN Ulysseus Network: Montenegro, Spain (Sevilla), France (Côte d’Azur), Italy (Genova), Slovakia (Košice), Austria (MCI), Finland (Haaga-Helia).
