Satellite operators, service operators and cooperating governmental users sought to participate in a HORIZON-EUSPA-2022-SPACE-02-61: GOVSATCOM Service developments and demonstrations project proposal
SatADSL a Belgian pioneering organisation working to remove barriers in the satellite connectivity marketplace by providing affordable and dependable IP access is looking for partners to complete a consortium for the next Horizon Europe topic HORIZON-CL4-2022-SPACE-02-61: GOVSATCOM Service developments and demonstrations.
Project idea in short: Demonstration of the Pooling and Sharing System developed by SatADSL together with Belgian partners, in the frame of the ESA co-funded BE-Secured PSS project through end-user pilots involving any GOVSATCOM user and in partnership with any satellite/service operator
Background of the project idea:
SatADSL is developing, in cooperation with Belgian partners, a Pooling and Sharing System for governmental users. Such system can be made available to any consortium of satellite/service operators to demonstrate interoperability of services through pilots with users
Is it important at European Union level? Could it be done at National level? :
In order to achieve critical mass of partners, the demonstration needs to include partners from different European countries.
Why not buy a product or service on the market (why do R&I or first time demonstration)? Why develop?
Pooling and Sharing System are not available on the market
Why now? (Not 5 years ago, or 5 years in the future?)
SatADSL is currently developing the Pooling and Sharing System and pilot demonstration will need to be performed during the period 2022-2023 in order to ensure proper market acceptance to the system.
Other organisations involved and their roles in the proposed Work
- Other organisations already committed
SatADSL is developing the Pooling and Sharing System in the frame of an ESA co-funded project together with Rhea Systems and ST Engineering iDirect Europe (former Newtec). These organisations are not yet committed to the project, but would be very interested in being involved if the proper consortium set-up can be arranged.
- What previous expertise does the consortium have regarding the project idea?
SatADSL is already providing satellite connectivity service to governmental users on a commercial basis. Here we want to demonstrate the advanced features and value added services that will be possible thanks to the Pooling and Sharing System under development.
Missing partners :
Ø Satellite operators including MS controlled operators
Ø Service operators/providers
Ø Cooperating Governmental users
Expected costs and Duration of the work
1,5M€ / 18 months
