2nd Annual Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium
02-03-2017

The Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium (MTEC) is pleased to announce the Second Annual MTEC Membership meeting will be held at Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, Texas, the "home of military medicine" on Thursday, March 30th, 2017. A special networking event featuring poster displays by current members and invited government sponsors will kick-off the meeting on Wednesday, March 29th, 2017.

Formed in conjunction with the United States Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC), MTEC is a tax-exempt non-profit corporation that has partnered with USAMRMC through an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) to offer an alternative to FAR-based R&D acquisitions.  The OTA acquisition model affords greater technology and prototype acquisition speed, getting solutions to end users sooner.  In the very first solicitation cycle for MTEC, the time from issuing the solicitation to first award on contract was less than eight months.  The OTA can be utilized by any government sponsor whose requirements fall within the USAMRMC technology domains.

The MTEC Second Annual Membership meeting is FREE and will focus on delivering VALUE to the attendee.  It will provide a forum for gaining insight into soon-to-be released solicitations and the MTEC white paper process, promoting idea exchange and enhancing networking opportunities.  Government and military personnel are welcome to attend and participate in all events, including the Poster Networking event on March 29, 2017, and optional tours of the Center for Intrepid, and Southwest Research Institute research areas.

Highlights of the meeting will include:

*       An overview of upcoming MTEC solicitations.
