Invitation to complete a European Commission sponsored survey for MCA/MSCA researchers
16-06-2017

Dear Alumnus/Alumna,

The MCAA - Marie Curie Alumni Association (www.mariecuriealumni.eu) is launching a survey to discover the experiences and issues faced by researchers who benefited from the Marie Curie Actions (MCA) / Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) at some point during their professional career. If this is your case, we kindly invite you to participate in the survey. It has been designed in association with the Career Development Working Group of the MCAA in order to map individual career trajectories and to identify where improvements can be made to existing support for researchers during and after their doctoral and postdoctoral studies, as well as at later stages in their professional careers.

To begin the survey, please click on this link (or copy/paste it into your browser):https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MCAAmajorSurvey

The MCAA is an international non-profit association, created with the support of the European Commission. With nearly 9.000 members, the MCAA represents past and present beneficiaries of the European Marie Curie programme, aiming to create a convivial environment for researchers, exchanging information, cooperating, and benefiting from a range of services. The association also intends to be a means to give a common voice to Marie Curie researchers that can influence positively the development of science, research and/ or education in Europe and beyond.

The survey will ask you about:

  • Demographic information and your prior education,
  • Your doctoral experience (if you are a PhD student or recently completed your doctoral studies)
  • Your postdoctoral experience (if you are a postdoc or recently completed one)
  • Your first paid job after the PhD and your current main job (if you are at a later stages of your professional career).

Please note that your answers will be confidential with no identifying information passed on. Responses will be presented in aggregate form with text answers anonymised where necessary. Following the analysis of this survey, we hope to conduct a follow-up study involving interviews with selected researchers who are interested in participating. At the end of this survey we will ask you if you are interested in participating in that study. If you are interested to hear about the results of this survey and wish to keep informed about future activities please make sure you follow the Career Development Working Group on the MCAA portal or join our Group on Facebook. We are happy to add you to our list if you say so at the end of this survey.

The survey will be available until the 30th June.

Thank you very much for your time!
